Missile shield: New tool to expand US hegemony
The US Secretary of state once again called the Islamic Republic of Iran a threat to the regional states to justify the need for deployment of missile shield in the Persian Gulf.

During her latest visit to the Persian Gulf sheikhdoms, the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke of deployment of a missile shield in the region.
Clinton and her Saudi counterpart Saud al-Faisal, in a joint news conference in Riyadh, spoke of starting specialized examination of the missile shield in the Persian Gulf littoral states. A joint committee was formed with the presence of diplomats and security experts to study the issue. The news conference was held after Clinton's joint meeting with the foreign ministers of 6 states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council PGCC. Clinton said that the armies of US and the PGCC states should enact a single plan to boost military might and to cooperate in naval security domain and deployment of missile shield in the region.
The US secretary of state once again called the Islamic Republic of Iran a threat to the regional states to justify the need for deployment of missile shield in the Persian Gulf.
The joint missile shield in the Persian Gulf is not something new. Earlier, the US officials had several times spoken of missile shield in the undemocratic and despotic states in southern Persian Gulf. Clinton's visit to Saudi Arabia aimed at making the plan of missile shield operational in the Persian Gulf. US former president George Bush, in his second round of presidency, raised Reagan's plan on stars war with the deployment of anti-missile systems in Eastern Europe. Talks were held and finalized with Poland and the Czech Republic but Russia's opposition to the project caused Obama to suspend the missile shield plan in East Europe for a short period of time after his arrival in the White House. The suspension of the missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic did not mean that the project was quit. In order to reduce Russia's sensitivity and win Moscow's cooperation, the US changed the shape of implementing the plan and the plan was finalized within the framework of NATO; and Turkey was determined as one of the sites of deploying anti-missile systems. Deployment of the systems in Turkey was faced with the widespread opposition in Turkey and the regional independent states.
With the formation of specialized committees in the Persian Gulf littoral Arab states to implement the missile shield in the region, the US is seeking to spread the project to the strategic points of the world. The Persian Gulf is of a strategic global significance economically, politically and militarily. Its importance increases day by day in view of the huge oil and gas reserves. The Islamic Republic of Iran as an independent state opposing the US domineering policies in the center of the Middle East is the other reason for the US government to expand its military hegemony in the Persian Gulf through establishing the missile shield in its client regimes in the region. The Islamic Republic of Iran, with its anti-oppression values and slogans has challenged the US domineering policies and the expansionism and occupation of the fake Israeli regime. The Islamic awakening, which broke out in late 2010 and has so far overthrown a number of the US lackeys like Mubarak in Egypt, Ben Ali in Tunisia, Gaddafi in Libya and Ali Abdullah Saleh in Yemen, still continues. Other despotic regimes of the region are also witness to popular uprising and the policy of suppression has not succeeded to extinguish the uprisings.
It is quite clear that the Islamic awakening in the regional Muslim states is the result of anti-oppression and Islamic ideals of the Islamic revolution of Iran. For this reason, the US government and the affiliated regimes in the region try to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of involvement in the internal affairs of those countries. This comes as Iran has several times stressed that it has not interfered in the internal affairs of the regional states. The uprisings sweeping the entire region of the Middle East are the result of people's awareness of the domestic despotism and their all-out dependence on the Global Arrogance. They have already learnt the way of struggle and resistance from Iran's Islamic of Revolution model. The regional Muslim people have become so aware that they will never be intimidated through killing and suppression. The despotic regimes are waning and they are on the verge of collapse despite having the most horrific intelligence apparatuses. In view of the Muslims' power in Tunisia and Egypt, the US considers its support for the affiliated monarchic regimes in the region and prevention of their overthrow as the only solution to preserve its domination in the region. Therefore, despite the suppression of people in countries like Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, the US regime extends political and military support for those countries. The deployment of missile shield in the Persian Gulf has been put forth in line with these supports.
The US once again has raised the threat of Iran as the reason for deployment of missile shield in the Persian Gulf. Washington launched the policy of Iranophobia and Shiaphobia after the victory of the Islamic revolution so that on one hand it could accompany its domineering and interventionist policies against the Islamic Republic of Iran and on the other hand it could offer full support for the affiliated, despotic and undemocratic regimes of the region.
But this policy yielded reversely, the reason for this claim is the Islamic awakening and the collapse of the dictatorial regimes which ranked in the US front against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Now the missile shield has no result except pillaging billions of dollars from the regional nations in favour of the US, British and French military and industrial complexes. Every region that the US is seeking to dominate, it tries through creating tension, fear and concern to sell its weapons to the affiliated and sheepish regimes. For the owners of the arms factories no region is so attractive as the Persian Gulf.
The best way for returning the dollars accumulated from oil and gas sale to the US and the European countries, is the sale of arms to the regional surrogate regimes. This plundering of the national capital of the southern Persian Gulf nations has been carried out for tens of years with the satisfaction of their rulers.
Observers believe that in view of the Islamic Awakening, looting the money of southern Persian Gulf nations for buying more weapons from the west can strengthen the wave of Islamic awakening in the Persian Gulf littoral states and put the regional dictator governments face to face with more serious threats. The Persian Gulf Sheikhdoms have turned into the depot of US and European arms manufacturing factories. These arms not only take the money of those people out of the country but make them more dependent on the US and its allies in Europe, because the US and European military advisors should be employed for the maintenance and use of the weapons and they should be given a colossal payment. The Persian Gulf governments have been for decades buying the latest modern weapons and military equipment from the US, Britain, France and Germany. But has this brought security and tranquility for them? The missile shield plan in the Persian Gulf rules out such an assumption, for if such a security had been set up, purchase of weapons from the western conglomerate arms producing factories would have stopped. The US is seeking long term hegemony in the region and this is gained just through creating insecurity. Permanent security is obtained only through cooperation of all regional states and the presence of any foreign government in the region is the source of insecurity and instability.
