One of Iran’s senior military officials has warned of stern retaliatory measures against the enemies should any of them venture upon launching an aerial attack against Iranian nuclear facilities, Mehr news Agency reported yesterday. 

Head of the Operation Department of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ali Shademani told reporters, ‘The country's armed forces which are under the (Islamic Revolution) Leader's command are in the highest state of preparedness.’ 

Shademani said Iran has the wherewithal to counter enemy attacks and he summed up a three-pronged strategy that would render the country’s enemies totally helpless. According to Shademani, the first measure would be to take a full and long-lasting control over the strategic Hormuz Straight by Iran. Such a measure if implemented would make free movements impossible through the narrow channel for unknown periods.

The second measure he explained would be overseeing and keeping a close watch over American military bases inside Afghanistan and Iraq. ‘With the slightest move against Iran, we will paralyze the troops stationed in those bases and won't allow them to make any move.’ The General said. 

And the third measure would be to disturb peace and tranquility in Israel, which is known as the closest ally of the United States. ‘The US and Israel well know that we can do it,’ the General added. 

Meanwhile, yesterday, former Bush administration officials and a staunch supporter of US aggressions against other nations, John Bolton in an interview with FOX Business said Israel has only 8 days left to launch a military attack against Iranian nuclear installations. 

The reason he cited was the opening of Iran’s first nuclear reactor in Bushehr by the end of this week. According to Bolton, once nuclear fuel rods are placed inside the core of this reactor it would be impossible then to ever attack Bushehr in the future lest radioactive material spread across a vast area. 
The Deputy Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qasem, has pointed out the resistance forces' preparedness to counter any possible attack by the Zionist regime's army.

According to IRNA, addressing the ceremonies held in the Syrian Capital, Damascus, on Tuesday night, which marked the 4th anniversary of the victory of Islamic resistance against the Zionist enemy, this senior Hezbollah official said that the resistance forces withstand the war machine and the fully armed Zionist troopers through resorting to their faith and will once again defeat the Israeli regime's forces.
He underlined that: "The Zionist regime will never be committed to the international resolutions and rules and regulations and the only way to expel it from the occupied territories is resistance, while we will continue resistance as the only path for defending our national sovereignty and freedom."
He also hailed Islamic Republic of Iran's and Syrian support for the resistance and reiterated that the Palestinian groups and a number of Arabs should join the resistance and stop pointless talks with the Zionist enemy, which have been dictated by the US and are in line with the Israeli regime's interests.

Israel has days to strike Iran Nuclear Reactor

Former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton has warned that Israel has just days to launch a strike against Iran Nuclear Reactor.


Israel has just days to launch a military strike and stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations has warned.
The deadline was set by outspoken former envoy John Bolton, who claimed that time was running out for the West to crush Tehran’s atomic ambitions.
He said Iran is planning to bring its first Bushehr reactor online on Saturday, when a shipment of nuclear fuel will be loaded into the plant’s core.
At that point, he said it would be too late for Israel to attack the facility because it would spread radiation and affect innocent Iranian civilians.
‘Once that uranium, once those fuel rods are very close to the reactor, certainly once they’re in the reactor, attacking it means a release of radiation, no question about it,’ said Mr Bolton.
‘So if Israel is going to do anything against Bushehr it has to move in the next eight days,’ he told Fox News in the U.S.

A Russian company is expected to help Iran start loading nuclear fuel into its plant on Saturday, after which an attack on the Bushehr reactor could trigger harmful radiation, which Israel wants to avoid, Bolton said. So unless the Israelis act immediately to shut down the facility, it will be too late.

"Once it's close to the reactor ... the risk is when the reactor is attacked, there will be a release of radiation into the air," Bolton told FoxNews.com. "It's most unlikely that they would act militarily after fuel rods are loaded." 

Earlier Tuesday, Bolton told Fox Business Network the Israelis will have to move in the "next eight days" if they want to attack the Bushehr facility -- a reference to the window between when the start-up was announced last week and the loading date. Bolton said Tuesday that the date has fluctuated, but he described the start-up as the ultimate deadline. 

Michael Oren, Israel's ambassador to the United States, told Fox News that the nation is hopeful sanctions -- passed by the United Nations, European Union and United States -- will "modify" Iran's behavior. Oren said Israel is "committed" to the sanctions program and will assess its impact at a later date.

"What this does is give Iran a second route to nuclear weapons in addition to enriched uranium," Bolton said. "It's a very, very huge victory for Iran." 

Bolton, who was U.S. ambassador during the Bush administration, expressed doubt that Israel was planning a military strike but suggested it's an open question. 

"If they were going to do anything, they certainly wouldn't be talking about it," he said. 

He noted that the reactor gives Iran something that both Iraq and Syria were never able to achieve because their facilities were destroyed. 

"Iran will have achieved something that no other opponent of Israel, no other enemy of the United States really in the Middle East has, and that is a functioning nuclear reactor," he said on Fox Business Network. 

Iranian officials on Tuesday warned Israel not to take military action. Iranian media quoted Ahmad Vahidi, Iran's defense minister, as saying Israel would be taking a huge risk with such an attack. 

"We may lose a power plant, but the whole existence of the Zionist regime will be jeopardized," Vahidi was quoted as saying. 

The reactor project has been in existence for decades, but the Russians have helped push it to the finish line. Russian state firm Rosatom announced last week that the Bushehr facility would be starting up on Aug. 21. According to the Iranian state Mehr news agency, the head of that company, Sergey Novikov, says the plant "just generates electricity."
