Curfew reimposed Complete shutdown In occupied Kashmir

Indian troops broke the doors and windows of the house, ransacked the belonging and harassed the inmates

In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, to protest against the killing of innocent protesters by Indian police and troops.

Call for the shutdown has been given by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani as part of the Quit Kashmir Movement.

All shops, business establishments, educational institutions and courts are closed while traffic is off the road. The shutdown will continue tomorrow as well.

On the other hand, a 17-year-old innocent youth, Fida Nabi Lone, who was injured in the firing of Indian police on peaceful protesters in Shalteng area of Srinagar on August 3, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital in Srinagar.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the ongoing agitation in the territory is the rebound effect of extreme repression unleashed by India to quell the struggle for right to self-determination of Kashmiri people.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under illegal house arrest, in a media interview at his residence in Srinagar, stressed the need to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations. He deplored that India was using brute tactics to muzzle the just voice of Kashmiris for their inalienable right. “On one side, India claims to be the biggest democracy in the world, on the other, its troops have unleashed reign of terror in the occupied territory,” he added.

Pointing out that Indian intransigent and non-serious attitude was the main hurdle to resolve the lingering dispute, the APHC Chairman said that New Delhi had always tried to buy time and dupe the world through talks.

Praising the Kashmiri people for their mammoth participation in the protest programmes, Mirwaiz denounced the use of disproportionate force by the puppet administration against peaceful protestors in the territory.

Appealing the people to continue their protest demonstrations till the complete withdrawal of Indian troops from the territory, he said that the biggest tribute to the Kashmiri martyrs, who had laid down their lives for the just cause, would be to take their mission to its logical conclusion.

On the other hand, the APHC spokesman, in a statement issued after a meeting of the amalgam in Srinagar, said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste. He vowed to continue the liberation struggle till its complete success.
