India honours a convicted killer

What they are doing in Sarbajit Singh episode, aren’t the Indian government and the Indian media encouraging the Indian nationals to come to Pakistan and kill innocent people to become national heroes back in India upon return, no matter dead or alive?
_____________________________________________________________

The act of the inmates of the jail where Sarabjit was imprisoned is indeed condemnable, but the way India bestowed on him the honors proves beyond doubt that he was a spy and a terrorist. Sarabjit Singh was given the best possible treatment, but he died of severe injuries on 2nd May.

On May 3, in what was a tit-for-tat assault, a 52-year old Pakistani prisoner named Rana Sanaullah Haq, who was serving a life term in a jail in Jammu, was attacked on the head by Indian inmates, suffering serious injuries, and was reported to be in critical condition. Sanaullah was admitted to the Government Medical College hospital in Jammu and his condition was reported to be serious. One should ask the question why India had not taken steps to avoid such attack when it knew that there could be reaction against Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails. This could be a planned act of quid pro quo; but one can look at the treatment to Pakistani prisoners in India.

In 2009, two Pakistani prisoners had died in Indian custody - one was Mohammad Akram, and the other one Mehmoud Khalid, a Pakistani citizen, who had gone to India to watch a cricket test match where he lost his passport for which he was subjected to sever torture resulting in his death. According to his elder brother Siddiq, Khalid had sent them a couple of letters and messages from the Indian prison to the effect he had been facing torture at the hands of Indian authorities. Unfortunately nobody could save Khalid - neither any lawyer like Ansar Burney, nor any human rights organization. Pakistani prisoner Akram had expired in Indian custody, who had crossed the border in the Kasur area on 8th February 2007and was arrested by the Indian authorities. He was a patient of schizophrenia as claimed by his family. What was shocking for most of Pakistanis was the post-mortem report of Muhammad Akram, according to which, his heart, kidneys, lungs, liver and intestines were taken out from the body before handing it over to Pakistani authorities.

Earlier, a Pakistani sepoy Maqbool Hussain was released after forty years of incarceration by Indian authorities in a condition that he had a paralyzed body, cut tongue and imbalance mind, as he had gone through the worst kind of torture and cruelties. On the other hand, Pakistan had released an Indian spy, Kashmir Singh, on humanitarian grounds.

Later, on arrival in India, Kashmir Singh confessed his crime, and it transpired that he had lied that he was not an Indian spy. Watching media coverage of a hale and healthy Indian spy going back to his country amid warm farewell with ‘protocol’, and receiving the dead bodies of Pakistani prisoners in return, was heart-rending not only for the families of deceased prisoners but also for the whole nation. Anyhow, Sarabjit Singh was awarded the death penalty by the Anti-Terrorist Court in 1991, based on the original confession he had made before a magistrate.

Pakistan had not executed for 22 years despite the fact that his sentence was upheld by the High Court and later by the Supreme Court. The government of Pakistan was inclined to show leniency towards his case on ‘humanitarian ground’ but could not do so due to the people of Pakistan’s demand for stern action against him. The case of released Indian prisoner Surjeet Singh from Pakistani jails uncovered the real face of Indian Government, RAW and Military Intelligence (MI). India had denied that Surjeet Singh, freed after serving three decades in Pakistani jails on espionage charges was a spy working for New Delhi. It is worth mentioning that Surjeet Singh had confessed before the Indian media that he was spying for India when he was arrested by Pakistani authorities in the 1980s. On the other hand, Indian agencies’ cruel treatment and torture have resulted in quite a few deaths of Pakistani prisoners. Most of the prisoners incarcerated in Indian and Pakistani jails are those who are involved in minor offences such as crossing the border unwittingly, staying with an expired passport, over-staying than the period allowed in the visa, or fishing in the territorial waters of the other country mistakenly.

Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving attacker of the November 2008 terror siege, was hanged till death at Pune’s Yerawada Jail in 2012 i.e. within 4 years of his arrest. After rejection of appeal first in the Indian Supreme Court and later rejection of mercy appeal by the President, it was a foregone conclusion that he would be hanged. But it never occurred that it would be done so soon. One would not know why the date and time of Ajmal Kasab’s hanging was kept as a secret from the media and the people at large; but his execution five days before the fourth anniversary of the Mumbai attacks could be a well thought-out plan by India’s ‘deep state security apparatus’ to unleash propaganda campaign against Pakistan’s ISI and describe Pakistan as a state that sponsors terrorism.

The other alleged mastermind of attack on Indian parliament, Mohammad Afzal Guru was sentenced to death by the trial court on 18th December 2002, and the sentence was upheld by the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. Anyhow, he was hanged within 11 years of his arrest and verdict. One could compare between India and Pakistan as to who is more compassionate, and who executes the prisoners in a hurry without transparent court proceedings. Sarabjit Singh was a terrorist and spy, arrested by Pakistani officials in 1990. He was tried and convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for a series of bomb attacks in Lahore and Faisalabad that killed 14 bystanders, in 1990. After the trials in Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court of Pakistan, he was sentenced to death in 1991. Five of his mercy petitions were rejected by the courts and the President of Pakistan.

India’s State funeral for its State killer

Sarabjit Singh was convicted for his involvement in serial bomb blasts in Lahore and Faisalabad in 1990. In these bomb blasts 14 innocent individuals were killed and several injured. He also confessed of carrying out the bomb blasts as directed by RAW. Therefore, basing on his confessional statement in the courts, he was awarded death sentence in 1991. The relatives of victims of Indian Spy’s terrorism have many times demanded his speedy trial and hanging in the case of brutally killing innocent Pakistanis.
______________________________________________________________

Shame, indignity, disgrace etc are the words; the Indian government as well as the Indian media does not seem to be familiar with. It becomes all too obvious in the backdrop of the hype that the Indian media has created over the demise of Sarabjit Singh with the government of India announcing to give a State funeral to this convicted and crystal clearly established State killer from India who confessed killing of 14 innocent Pakistanis in different acts of first degree terrorism. If the unscrupulous Indian media started giving coverage to Sarabjit Singh episode if some top celebrity of India was thrashed in Pakistan with Pakistan government miserably failing to provide adequate protocol and security to this top Indian celebrity than the shameless Indian government sent its special aircraft to carry home the dead body of the convicted terrorist.

Who was Sarabjit Singh? What did he do to get a death sentence? Who sent him to Pakistan? What did he confess during the lawful interrogation and what did the prosecution established against him the Courts of Law which even the Indian government couldn’t deny or challenge?

Sarabjit Singh was arrested by Pakistani authorities in early 90s after a series of bomb blasts ripped through different parts of Pakistan. During the investigations, Sarabjit Singh confessed to the authorities that he was sent to Pakistan by Indian government agencies and he carried out different bomb blasts at Lahore, Faislabad etc in which 14 innocent Pakistanis were killed. The prosecution took him to the Courts of Law at al the judicial levels where it was proved that Sarabjit was the killer of 14 innocent people and thus was handed over the death sentence. After Sarabjit was sentenced to death, the Indian government suddenly started to ask Pakistan to release him on humanitarian grounds, irrespective of the fact that he was sentenced to death for killing 14 innocent people, including women and children. It was perhaps the first time that the Indian government came forward to own a terrorist who was arrested red handed in Pakistan. Since then, Indian government, setting aside all the shame, grace and international diplomatic and political norms, constantly kept asking Pakistan to release the killer on humanitarian grounds. This quest for Sarabjit by the Indian government was later joined by the Indian media with equal shamelessness and disgrace.

The convicted killer, who was waiting to be hanged in a death cell of Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, eventually, died of heart attack at a Lahore hospital after he was admitted there, following a physical scuffle with 2 other inmates. However, soon after Sarabjit was taken to hospital from prison, Indian government and the Indian media started reacting as if the heavens had fallen. And finally, the Indian government announced to honour Sarabjit a State funeral while his family, since then, is being treated as the kin of a national Hero of India.

Why the Indian government and the Indian media have started treating the dead killer and convicted terrorist as a martyr and a national Hero of India. Irrespective of the fact that Sarabjit died of negligence of prison authorities or did he fall victim to a plan by Indian Intelligence that wanted to deflect media and public attention from stand-off with China, it remains a million dollars question that what the hell on earth had Sarabjit done for India that the government of India and Indian media have started treating him as a posthumous National Hero? Indian government and the Indian media that with which face they profess for eliminating terrorism and terrorists when they treat convicted terrorists as national heroes?

What was Srabjit’s contribution to Indian nation that he is being given a State funeral? What makes Sarabjit Singh different from Ajmal Kasab who was hurriedly hanged by Indian government on the charges of killing innocent people in Mumbai attacks?

It is proving beyond any doubt that Sarabjit Singh was a State killer from Indian, sent to Pakistan on a terrorism mission by the government of India and now the State of India is giving its State terrorist a State funeral with India media going unscrupulous and unethical as always.

What they are doing in Sarbajit Singh episode, aren’t the Indian government and the Indian media encouraging the Indian nationals to come to Pakistan and kill innocent people to become national heroes back in India upon return, no matter dead or alive?

Sarabjit Singh & uncanny Indian media

Indian spy Sarabjit Singh, who had been sentenced to death for terrorist activities inside Pakistan, is fighting for survival in a Lahore hospital after he was attacked by inmates with bricks. Police have registered a case against two Kot Lakhpat jail inmates for allegedly attacking Sarabjit. There is an impression that what prompted the absolutely horrific attack are rumours that Sarabjit was to be released after the president’s approval of his mercy petition lying pending for several years. Backdoor efforts were on to secure his release since New Delhi has been exerting a great deal of pressure. That  process was stopped after the hasty execution of Ajmal Kasaab and Afzal Guru and the Indian government’s refusal to return their bodies to their families. Islamabad has acted swiftly.
______________________________________________________________

A convicted terrorist from India, who admitted of butchering 14 innocent Pakistani citizens through bomb blast in Lahore and Faisalabad in early 90s, was going through imprisonment and waiting to be hanged after getting death penalty from Pakistani courts after a comprehensive justice process was exercised. This death sentenced terrorist was beaten up by certain inmates, an incident which is otherwise very common in almost every prison of the world and especially in the jails of India and Pakistan.

However, soon after the news of Sarbjit being thrashed by inmates, the Indian government as well as the Indian media went heads over heels with a great shameless and brazenness manner and started portraying as if no convicted terrorist, a killer of 14 innocent people was not thrashed but actually some VVIP dignitary of India, visiting Pakistan on a Stet visit was attacked in Pakistan. If the Indian media started crying like a frightened and traumatized child over the issue, the Indian government on the other hand reacted to the episode in such a manner as if Sarrbjit was some Indian diplomat who got thrashed in Pakistan. From the level of a third secretary at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to the the Prime Minister of India, everybody set aside all the facts and norms of diplomacy and straight away started raising a rather derogatory voice in support of the a terrorist who was long ago convicted for killing 14 people through proved acts of terrorism.

It is a legally proved fact that Sarabjit Singh is an ‘official terrorist’ from India, sent to Pakistan for executing terror plans by the Indian government. He came and displayed first degree terrorism and killed a number of innocent citizens in different parts of Pakistan and was finally arrested and convicted and is now going through his sentence in a Pakistani prison. He is also on tapes to have admitted his crime before courts and media both. However the Indian government and Indian media have constantly been asking Pakistan government to release him and both are now bent upon portraying the terrorist as celebrity from India.

On the other side, Pakistan government has never asked for the release of any terrorist of Pakistani origin, arrested by India for any act of terrorism in India. In fact government of Pakistan and Pakistani media has never uttered a single word of sympathy for any such terrorists, irrespective of the fact that such terrorists were proved of being Pakistani or not at first place. It is also on record that no family member of any such terror accused, held in India, has ever made any appeal to the Indian government for his release. The latest example in this regard is that of an alleged Pakistani terrorist of Mumbai attacks, Ajmal Kasab who was prosecuted and hanged within a matter of months.

In Kasab’s case, neither the Pakistan government, nor the Pakistani media or any kin (if there is any) of Kasab ever made any appeal to the Indian government for showing mercy to the terrorist. In fact no single person from all over Pakistan ever uttered a single word in support or sympathy of Ajmal Kasab and no one from Pakistan ever tried to make any influence during Kasab’s trial and ultimate death sentence.

What makes Kasab different from Sarabjit Singh? The answer is ‘Nothing’.

Both Ajmal Kasab and Sarabjit Singh were charged and handed over sentences for first degree terrorism. Both were sentenced for killing innocent people and both were legally proved to be simply enemies of humanity. However the question is that why Indian government and Indian media is trying their best to get one terrorist released on humanitarian grounds while both of them ensured the hanging the other one?

No one from Pakistan government should listen to such foul cries of the Indian government or the Indian media or kin of such arrested and convicted terrorists. However, on humanitarian grounds, the convicted terrorist must be given proper medical treatment and must be hanged as early as possible, once he becomes medically fit.

Indian media should also show responsibility in such matters and should avoid portraying the convicted terrorist as some celebrity from India because by doing so, they would only gain a big incredibility across the world.

What is different between Ajmal Kasab and Sarabjit Singh, is that though both terrorists were always of same profile, yet Kasab’s profile went really high due to media hype in India while Sarabjit’s profile remained limited as at the time his committing terrorism, there was not enough media in this part of the world to highlight his profile. What differentiates Ajamla Kasab and Sarabjit Singh is that Sarabjit has government and Indian media on his back, pleading and supporting the convicted terrorist him while Kasab had no one on his back.

Apathy to the Carnage of Muslims in Myanmar

A leading international rights group has accused the authorities in Myanmar including senior Buddhist monks of bolstering a campaign of ethnic cleansing against the country’s Muslim minority. Human rights watch described a series of attacks, in which hundreds of people were killed and over 120.000 people were forced from their homes.

The world is silent, the UN is silent, the OIC is mum and the Muslim Capitals speak out nothing, demonstrating full apathy on the carnage of Muslim minority going on in the Bhuddist majority country of Myanmar, previously called as Burma. Historically the Muslim majority province Arakan of that country was a Muslim kingship which was forcefully annexed to Burma after attacking it in 1784.
The naked atrocities and the unimaginable crimes meted out to the Muslims of the country are second to none over the globe at the moment. Even the children, the women and the old age people are not spared and are killed brutally by the ones called to be followers of a faith (Bhudism) which obligates on its followers not to kill even an injurious insect, leave alone a human being.

The police and the armed forces of the country are silent spectators of this dreadful arson and bloody carnage of thousands of hapless minority Muslims. The province of Arakan is the centre of this bloody game where the unmatched crimes of blood bathing is going on before the very eyes of the military rulers.

It seems that there is no government writ there and every one is free in killing and even burning alive the Muslims who are at the mercy of the killers.

The Muslims are not allowed to get education there and even they cannot marry at their own free will but with going through a very trying procedure of enquiry by the government agencies. The life, honor and property of the Muslims are at stake and they find themselves forced to adopt Bhuddist names in order to conceal their identity as Muslims.

What has happened to the so-called media channels which never hesitate to make resounding hue and cry if some thing happens to a non-Muslim anywhere in the world. Why do they remain mum on the cruelties going on against the Burmese Muslims? The Muslims rulers and heads of the states including Pakistan are silent and even the Islamic movements in various Muslim countries, with few exceptions, have not made serious protests before their rulers to divert their attention to the criminalities done against their brethren in Myanmar. Why the big turbaned Mullahs so deeply entrenched in the election campaign, striving for alliances with their secular counterparts, do not find a few moments to speak on the issue of the Muslims, bleeding in Myanmar? Well the media and the human right activists ever pay their attention to utter a few words about the bloodiest criminalities going on in that country at the hands of the Bhuddists whose spiritual grand-grand father, the Great Mahatama Bhudda could not tolerate even the scene of a dying dog and left for ‘BanBas’ in the grooves and the jungle. Why the Bhuddist majority are committing these atrocities in clear defiance and violation of the teachings of the Mahatama is not understandable.

The only reason is that there is no Muslim Power in shape of Khilafat on the earth to response to the cries of the Muslims in Myanmar and elsewhere in the world as it had happened in Deebal (Karachi) on the cry of a single Muslim woman maltreated at the hands of some criminals. History does not forget the coming over of Muhammad Bin Qasim, a young General of 17 in response to the call of that poor lady.

Realism in Pakistan ties with Russia

Over the past ten years Pakistan and Russia have covered a long distance in trying to come closer to each other. The continuation of this pro-active approach will further strengthen their bilateral bondage. In post-2014 scenario the cementing of ties between the two will be even more pronounced.
___________________________________________________________________

With the collapse of Soviet Union on 26 December 1991, the world order transformed from bipolar to uni-polar. Francis Fukuyama - the leading US contemporary philosopher of liberal school of thought - denoted the moment as “the end of history - end point of mankind's ideological evolution and the universalization of Western liberal democracy.”

On their domestic front, the post-Soviet Russian Federation - legal heir of former USSR - has always been in search of its lost identity and renewed role in the world politics. Over the past decade, Russia has shown palpable signs of resurgence on international arena, but the length of distance they have covered is worth inquiring, both in liberal and realist paradigm.

The contemporary realists - like Azar Gat and Robert Kagan denote Moscow's recent re-emergence as “the end of the end of history.” Robert Kagan echoed his views in his 2008 book, “The Return of History and the End of Dreams”, who's title was a deliberate rejoinder to “The End of History.”

A realist evaluation of the whole phenomenon is also significant from Pakistani perspective so as to revisit the history of Pak-Russia bilateral relations and explore new windows of opportunities in the changing global scenario.

Realists argue that the history of ancient Czarist Russia exposes two prominent trends: ideology and expansion. From 1922 to 1991, the basic character of Soviet foreign policy (Marxism-Leninism) was based upon Vladimir Lenin's “Decree on Peace” of 1917 which encompasses both proletarian internationalism and peaceful coexistence. The element of proletarian internationalism, though, gradually faded away but the component of Marxism-Lenin ideology always remained a dominating factor in its foreign policy. Moreover, the traces of Soviet history also show its natural instinct of geographical expansion. Beginning in 1533, the Soviet border stretched to Pacific Ocean in 1689. By the end of 19th century, Soviet imprints were found touching the Afghan borders. Finally in 1979, the Soviet quest for warm waters compelled her to commit the strategic blunder of invading Afghanistan.

The Russian intelligentsia in the post-Cold war era identifies three major trend groups in their society defining various courses of action in Russian foreign policy: (1) Liberal Westernists, while presenting idealist view of international relations, believe in close relations with the West and advocate free economic liberation and market economy; (2) Fundamental Nationalists, conversely believe in the legacy of their lost national pride and Marxism-Leninism ideology, and propose means to create a greater Russia, envisioning a rebirth of Soviet Union; and (3) Pragmatic Nationalists - following a balanced approach -suggest bridging the gap between the East and the West while securing Russia's interests and identity.

The evaluation of Russian thinking process after the fall of the Soviet Union - especially since Vladimir Putin came to power in 2000 - revolves around three enduring Foreign Policy Strategic Objectives: (1) strengthening and controlling the Russian state and politics; (2) creating economic growth and structure of the Russian economy; (3) establishing Russia as a power player in international affair.

As a regional power, Russia's South Asian policy attributes: (1) its quest for warm-water ports; (2) the China factor; and (3) countering US regional interests. In pursuit of its regional objectives, Russian foreign policy - both during and after the cold-War - has always been India centric. The depth of Soviet-Indian strategic partnership can be judged from Indo-Soviet Treaty of 1971 and Soviet support to India in Indo-Pak War-1971.

Pak-Russia relations - in a realist paradigm - have always suffered from trust deficit. Their history is simply a tale of misperceptions and lost opportunities. In 1947, Pakistan at the time of its inception, decided to join the US block ignoring the next-door Soviet Union. One can make a number of arguments for and against the decision but analyzing it from hindsight, one can conclude that the Pakistani elite did not conduct correct 'cost-benefit' analysis under Max Weber Rationality Model.

Certain external contraptions have also been detrimental to working relations between Islamabad and Moscow. Amongst all, the US factor in Pakistan's foreign policy has been significantly pronounced. Pakistan has always fought a proxy war safeguarding the U.S. interests against the USSR. In 1959, Pakistan signed an accord with America to counter communist intimidation on its western border. In 1962, the Soviets captured a U.S. spy plane. The pilot revealed that the aircraft had taken off from the Badaber Airbase, Peshawar. It is related that the furious Soviet leader, Khrushchev, circled Peshawar red on map. The initial preference of joining the U.S. camp, subsequent signing of West's security system (SEATO-1954 and CENTO-1955), and finally as frontline ally during the Afghan war (1979-89), never allowed Islamabad to formulate an independent policy towards Moscow.

India has always been a pre-dominant factor in Pakistan's foreign policy. Despite having no bilateral disputes both Pakistan and Russia had viewed each other through external perspective - Russia with American and Pakistan with Indian lens. Pakistan also failed to strike a balance of its ties with both the superpowers which India successful maintained.

Conversely, in the post-Cold War and post-9/11 eras, leadership in both the states has shown positive indicators. Pakistan due to its geostrategic location and its role in international arena is a important country and cannot be ignored by great powers. The Indian factor in Pak-Russia ties is no more conspicuous.

The period of Afghan War (1979-1989) was the worst in the history of both nations. Even after the war, there was no much warmth in their relations due to Taliban factor in Pakistan's foreign policy. However, in the post-9/11 epoch, Pak-Russia relations have shown some improvement. As the U.S. led NATO forces are planning to leave Afghanistan in 2014, the role of both Pakistan and Russia will be even more meaningful in Afghan security in particular and for the whole region in general.

In the past one decade, there have been numerous positive signals of melting ice. Some of the upbeats include: Visit by President Pervez Musharraf in Feb 2003 - first by a Pakistani President in 33 years; Russian facilitation on grant of Observer's status at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in 2005 and Pakistan's reciprocal gesture of helping Russia in getting Observer's status at the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC); Prime Minister Mekhail Fredkov's visit (Apr 2007) - the first by a Soviet leader in almost four decades; Meeting between Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his Pakistani counterpart Yousaf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of SCO summit in Dushanbe (25 November 2010); Visits by Pakistan Army Chief (2009 and 2012); and the Quadripartite Sochi Summit (2010) - considered a turning point in rewriting the history of relations between the two nations and a green signal for the Russian-Pakistani Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade and Economic and Scientific-Technological Cooperation in Islamabad.

Arms trade - the only taboo in Pak-Russia relation - has too proved to be an academic argument as Russian technologies indirectly trickled to Pakistani forces. Ukrainian T-80UD tank (Russian technology), Chinese JF-17 (with Russian RD-93 engine) and MI-17 Helicopters are already in Pak Army arsenal. Pakistan is also likely to purchase MI-35 attack helicopters to fight terrorism.
Three areas of cooperation - energy, trade and security - are recommended as long term policy guidelines for both the nations.

Both the states possess great potential in energy sector which can help boost their economies. Fortunately, Pakistan is blessed with two energy corridors which link Russia (holding world's largest gas reserves), Central Asian Republics (CARs) and Iran (holding 2nd largest gas reserves) with international markets. The materialization of Iran-Pakistan (IP) and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) Gas Pipeline Projects will not only help Pakistan in meeting its energy shortfall but will also provide access to Russia and CARs to the West. Moreover, Prime Minister Pervez Ashraf, during his meeting with Russian Foreign Mimister Sergey Lavrov on 3 October 2012, Pakistan has also sought Russia's assistance in coal mining and generation of coal power plants.

The second area in which the future of both the countries lies is their cooperation in trade. The bilateral volume of trade between Russia and Pakistan has surged from a paltry $92 million in 2003 to over $700 million in 2011 and is expected to further improve in the years to come.

As explained above, the Russian sale of arms to Pakistan has never been inviolable. Furthermore, in August and November 2012, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Army Chiefs paid high rated visits to Russia.

Over the past ten years Pakistan and Russia have covered a long distance in trying to come closer to each other. The continuation of this pro-active approach will further strengthen their bilateral bondage. In post-2014 scenario the cementing of ties between the two will be even more pronounced.

Pakistan election & TTP String of attacks

Whilst no responsibility has been claimed for these ghastly attacks, one des not need to dig too deep to point an accusatory finger at the militants who have been promising the nation a bloody election — in every way. If this is the state of things before the landmark elections one shudders to think what will happen on the big day when scores of people will venture out of their homes to partake in the history making transition towards democracy.
 ___________________________________________________________

We are still some 13 days away from our first ever milestone elections and it seems as if only a miracle will help us see that day. On Tuesday, a string of extremely well coordinated attacks in both Quetta and Karachi left citizens traumatised, the interim government shaking its head, and the nation bloodied. Four people were left dead and more than 46 injured in the provincial capital of Balochistan. The blasts occurred in quick succession in different areas of the city. Three of the bombs were remote controlled but the fourth, which was also the most deadly near Alamdar Road, was a suicide attack, resulting in the most casualties of the day. Karachi was also attacked later on Tuesday night when a blast shook an election office of the MQM, killing three people. The MQM in response closed its election offices and Farooq Sattar wondered out loud whether a free and fair election was possible in these circumstances. Couple all this with the fact that an explosives-laden truck was discovered outside Pervez Musharraf’s farmhouse in Chak Shahzad, which was successfully defused, and we have a recipe for disaster. The carnage and terror does not end there; on Wednesday, another bomb ripped through Quetta’s Satellite Town near a hospital, resulting in 13 people being seriously injured. Needless to say, these strikes have left the citizens of both cities, and the country, numb to any promises the caretaker government might have to offer.

The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has distributed pamphlets in Buner, Peshawar as well as in different parts of Karachi warning citizens not to participate in upcoming elections. They have done it before and are doing it again yet are not visible to any of the official security agencies put in place all over the country. Notwithstanding the panic such rebellious and threatening material creates, the worrisome aspect is that Taliban come to the public places to distribute leaflets without any fear of being noticed or challenged. Yes! The TTP men are daring volunteers, having no fears of any security force but the failure, negligence or inefficiency of the security agencies to give a matching response to the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan is a major source of anxiety and concern for the masses that are exposed to these threats. It is a rude shock that the local administration and the security officials have been caught unaware of any such incidents.

Taliban's earlier threats have scared the Pakistan people's Party, Awami National Party and the MQM. All three political parties have curtailed their political activities in public in their respective areas to save lives of its leadsers. Having achieved the desired impact-the TTP leaflets, distributed in various areas of Karachi, Peshawar and Buner--are throwing warnings to the people against attending political rallies and casting their votes at polling stations else wise they would themselves be responsible for their own lives. Calling democracy Un-Islamic, the TTP has vowed to continue its fight against secular forces. Hardly there is anything new in the pamphlets to surprise the people. But the TTP penetration in Peshawar's Badaber, Mattni and Adizai areas and in Shalbandi area of Buner to distribute the leaflets confirms the fact the TTP network is operative in the cities unchecked and can strike ahead of the general elections, foxing the government's high security alters.

The TTP's ploy will shake the people's confidence in the Government's security agencies and in their anti-terrorism measures. The TTP, so far, has succeeded to out-maneuver the security mechanism raised by the Election Commission. Yet the people of Pakistan have to wither the violence whether it comes from the TTP or from any other quarter for the sake of the country. Salvation of the Country and the nation lies in bringing in the next elected government through polls not in accepting the rhetoric of the terrorists using the name of religion.

The entire nation has to stand by the armed forces to counter the terrorists' threats, out-rightly rejecting self-proclaimed righteousness by any group or individual. Yet the TTP threats should not be taken lightly. The TTP leaflets are nothing to be afraid of but certainly are another wake-up call for the entire Pakistan. The security agencies must earnestly stand up to the challenge thrown at them for saving the lives of the people and the sovereignty of Pakistan. The Election Commission must hold solemn discussions to put up foolproof arrangements to see through the process of the electing new government.

Showdown on the Korean Peninsula

Since the US-North Korea tussle began, Pyongyang has cut hotlines connecting it with the UN, US, and South Korea
________________________________

The tension on the Korean Peninsula is rising after the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea (DPRK) conducted a nuclear test on February 12. A few weeks later when the United States began its joint military exercises with South Korea, DPRK saw it as Washington’s scheme of imposing its hegemony over Pyongyang. North Korea’s supreme commander, Kim Jong-un, has increased its military arsenal at its border with South Korea, placing both countries on high alert.

North Korea has been on a verge of attacking South Korea as their tussle, the Korean War, never found closure. The two archenemies of East Asia did agree for a ceasefire in 1953 when the two signed the Korean Armistice Agreement with the United States. In its latest threat, North Korea has warned that it will attack South Korea without any warning. Earlier, DPRK had even issued a threat to carry out missile attacks on the US, which escalated the US-North Korea tensions to new heights. North Korea placed its missiles on stand-by to attack the US but did not take the daring step knowing the possible consequences coming from the UN and the US. The US did take counter-measures by placing missiles at Guam, a territory under US control in the western Pacific. However, analysts suggest that North Korea does not have the firepower to launch a nuclear attack against the US, as it would take the DPRK years to manufacture a nuclear warhead that could attack Washington.

The US-South Korea military drills have angered Pyongyang before but this time the antagonism was beyond the line of no return. Although North Korea has been showing rebellious intentions since the days of the Cold War, the international community is concerned for its recent dissenting actions. DPRK conducted the nuclear tests even when China, its sole ally, was advising it not to, while the UN had given a stern warning to impose sanctions if Pyongyang took such a step. Following the nuclear tests, South Korea had to fortify its border patrols as a precautionary measure.

It seems as if North Korea wants to get Washington’s attention, which is why it conducted the nuclear tests in the first place. DPRK’s commander, Kim Jong-un believes that the US is exerting undue influence over Pyongyang and that Washington should give breathing space to North Korea. Pyongyang wants security guarantees from the US, to sign a peace treaty, and wants the US to remove its 28,500 troops stationed in South Korea. Although these are practical demands, the US will not put Seoul in a vulnerable position by calling back all of its troops.

While the US is strengthening its ties with South Korea, Kim Jong-un views conducting training exercises with South Korea as Washington’s plan to overthrow the DPRK government. To what extent Jong-un’s apprehensions are correct is yet to be seen.

The international community is applauding South Korea for not kneeling in front of the DPRK. For the South, this is a matter of pride because since February 25, South Korea’s first woman president, Park Geun-hye, is running the country. In a warning even shocking to the DPRK, the South Korean Defence Ministry cautioned the DPRK it would face extinction if it ever used nuclear weapons.

Even if North Korea is showing belligerence towards the US and South Korea, the US State Department considers DPRK’s threats a mere hollow gesture to show dominance. Analysts are busy finding the target range that North Korea might have acquired following its latest nuclear test and if it can actually hit any part of the US. Studies suggest that North Korea’s threats need a concrete base, as it will take years before Pyongyang can acquire a nuclear warhead capable of being mounted on its missiles. Joseph Bermudez, a Denver-based scholar who has studied North Korea’s military strategies, believes that North Korea cannot win a battle against the US or South Korea. Bermudez believes that the North cannot arm its missiles with a nuclear warhead.

In spite of a North Korea-US conflict being improbable, the North does indeed have the power to attack the South with its diverse collection of missiles and artillery. However, South Korea did not take the North’s threats seriously by saying that they are DPRK’s practice of verbal intimidation.

Since the US-North Korea tussle began, Pyongyang has cut hotlines connecting it with the UN, US, and South Korea. Moreover, the DPRK has annulled the Korean Armistice Agreement.

Following the nuclear tests, North Korea has restarted the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Centre, which was inactive since 2007. The plant, which is equipped with a uranium enrichment facility, poses apprehensions for the US and the Southeast Asian region, whereas China is not willing for DPRK to go on with its nuclear plans. When the US is busy dealing with Iran, the North Korean threat might compel Washington to get over with Tehran at the earliest and focus on neutralising Pyongyang.

Indian SC’s discrimination against minorities

Devender Singh is from north-western Punjab and, who was convicted over a car bombing in New Delhi in 1993, had appealed for his sentence to be commuted to life imprisonment on the grounds that he had spent two decades on death row. He was an active hardcore member of Khalistan Movement and always opposed Congress government’s policies against minorities. He used to openly criticize Indian armed forces operation against Golden Temple. Notably, over 20000 innocent Sikhs have been gunned down in Operation “Blue Star” which was conducted against Sikhs on 5th June 1984 by Indian Army.

On 12 April 2013, India’s Supreme Court orders the execution of a Devender Pal Singh Bhullar rejecting his mercy appeal. The verdict of court will lead to more death sentences being carried out.

He used to openly criticize Indian armed forces operation against Golden Temple. Notably, over 20000 innocent Sikhs have been gunned down in Operation “Blue Star” which was conducted against Sikhs on 5th June 1984 by Indian Army.

Anyhow Devender Singh challenged the right of the state to execute mentally ill convicts, claiming he had developed psychological problems while languishing in prison, including schizophrenia. But Supreme Court Bench out rightly rejected his appeal without considering mental sickness of the petitioner.

The ruling will also be followed by the apex courts in the cases of other prisoners whose executions have also been held up for decades, including three men convicted over the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991.

However, it is not the matter of criticizing Indian Supreme Court due to her current decision against one of the liberators of Sikh Movement. In fact, it is being apparently felt that the court is probably having bias approach towards, Christians, Muslims and Sikhs. Death sentences to Davender Singh, Ajamal Kissab, and young Kashmiri Afzal Guru are illustration of unjust decisions of the Indian courts. Moreover, not punishing RAW’s terrorist Col Prohit for bombing Pakistani passengers of Samjhauta Express, burning 730 houses and 95 churches including killing women and children of Christian community of Orissa in 2007 and responsible of launching “Operation Blue Star are some of the conspicuous examples of discriminatory behavior of Indian courts towards the minorities.

Though, Supreme Court of India maintained Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s punishment and ordered to send him to jail but the main focus of verdicts of the court was to allege Pakistani supreme intelligence agency “ISI” in Mumbai bomb blast on 12 March 1993. In this connection, the apex court said that conspiracy to target India’s financial capital was hatched by Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memom and it was executed with the help of Pakistani authorities.

Anyhow, the Hindutva mindset is prevailing all over India particularly in ruling political elite, establishment and armed forces. In this context, top Bollywood Muslim star Shahrukh said “I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India.”

Salman Khan has also been convicted for 1 year and 5 years for poaching of two Chinkaras at Bhawad and one Black Buck at Ghoda Farm (Mathania) in the intervening nigh of 26-27 September, 1998 and 28-29 September, 1998 respectively.

In 2008 prominent Indian actress, Member of Parliament and renowned social activist Shabana Azmi in an interview with local TV, Azmi said with a tinge of bitterness: ‘I cannot get a house in Mumbai. I wanted to buy a flat in Mumbai and it wasn’t given to me because I was a Muslim and I read the same about Saif Ali Khan.’

Notably, Sanajay Dutt is a son of film actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, made his acting debut in 1981. In fact extremists Hindu did not believe that Sanajy is from their community being a son of Nargis Dutt.

Anyhow, discriminatory actions against minorities have become inbuilt phenomena of major pillars of India. In Gujarat, whenever Hindu-Muslims riots occur, RAW and CBI use to file the crafted cases against Muslims. Reportedly, the minorities in India are feeling highly insecure and considering themselves third rated citizens of the country. They are joining and supporting the movements of Independence. The organization of human rights should take notice of the situation while visiting Kashmir, Nagaland, Punjab and Maoists area and force Indian Supreme Court to punish Col Prohit and responsible of launching “Operation Blue Star”.

US most obvious false flag attack yet

This week’s terror attack in Boston is not the first incredible failure of intelligence and law enforcement America has suffered. By “incredible,” I mean exactly that, “not to be believed.”
____________________________________________________________

Before the smoke had cleared, the Israel Lobby and DEBKA had identified “domestic terrorists with Mid-East connections” as the guilty parties. This, alone, was taken as a confirmation that a very real conspiracy was involved, this time the most obvious false flag terror attack yet.

Highest sources “weigh in” on Boston bombing:

During 9/11, NORAD and the entire United States Air Force “vaporized” just like the FBI, DHS, and Boston PD security did. We’re getting used to it, being lied to and, frankly, being murdered as well.

Within minutes of the Boston attack, America’s intelligence and Special Operations community put their back-channel “round-robin” into motion. This is how America’s top intelligence operatives informally share sensitive information on threats.

Those with the highest access to both human and signals intelligence, those tasked with tracking and killing terrorists came to a very startling conclusion.

“An American agency was involved, out first guess is that it is the FBI.”

Had I asked this question three years ago and I did, I would have been called a “conspiracy theorist,” and, in fact, I was. Now I am told, “Duff, you were right all along, we feel like such idiots.”

America’s Special Operations community has, of late, been under attack. The group, long closely allied with their Israeli counterparts and still maintaining strong friendships with Israeli counterparts, is now skeptical of the souring relationship and Netanyahu’s poor leadership.

Moreover, many of America’s elite warriors have been shocked to find groups they belonged to listed as “terrorist.” Their conservative politics and patriotism is now being characterized as a threat to national security.

The new policy that has brought suspicion upon many of America’s military and intelligence leaders originates from Tel Aviv. None saw this coming, this betrayal.

Background:

In 2005, President Bush (43) appointed Michael Chertoff, an Israeli citizen, as director of the Department of Homeland Security. It was Chertoff’s job, while Secretary of DHS, to place all law enforcement, counter-terrorism, and domestic surveillance operations under Israeli control.

This was done by directing all contracts to Israeli companies, all equipment, all training, and full access to all intelligence databases. American companies, even “disabled veteran owned,” were excluded until they took on Israeli partners.

All Americans involved in legislative and policy areas, defense, intelligence, law enforcement, and counter-terrorism efforts were taken to Israel for indoctrination. Tens of thousands made the trip.

Israel was seen as “all knowing.”

Years later, when more Americans learned that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians had been murdered, others spending decades in concentration camps while Israel conspired directly with the nations it claimed were its “blood enemies,” Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE.

Indoctrinated to “look the other way”

Rather than improve skills and learn from very able Israeli experts, those trained by Israelis became, albeit through a form of “brainwashing,” complicit in helping undermine the United States.

Thus, when we learned from the University of Mobile cross-country coach, Ali Stevenson, a participant in the marathon, that police told him they were running a terrorism “drill,” things became clear.

Such drills are overseen by the Department of Homeland Security who subcontracts to Israeli companies. They hire actors to wear backpacks with “simulated” explosives in order to test security.

Several “actors” with backpacks containing “simulated” pressure-cooker bombs were spotted and their photographs published.

The same thing happened in London when, on July 7, 2005, actors hired by an Israeli company to “play” roles as terrorists with “simulated” bombs in backpacks were credited with killing or injuring over 700 commuters.

These are only two of many such “coincidences,” now clearly seen as the result of “infiltration” of America’s security infrastructure by terrorist elements somehow related to Israel.

The results of this are now being seen, bogus “lone gunman” shootings, each more “incredible” than the last and now the Boston Bombing.

Ignoring espionage:

When George W. Bush “assumed the presidency,” the FBI had been investigating AIPAC, the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, as an espionage organization. Stephen Rosen and Keith Weissman, both Israeli citizens working at AIPAC, had been arrested for espionage along with Lawrence Franklin, an American official.

Secretary of Homeland Security Chertoff and Attorney General John Ashcroft ordered prosecution of Rosen and Weissman to be dropped. Franklin, their co-conspirator went to prison.

AIPAC, along with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) under Abraham Foxman and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) under Morris Dees, were then contracted to “educate” America’s military and law enforcement about terrorist threats.

However, as these organizations are Israeli financed and controlled and, as Netanyahu has stated often, “when America suffers, Israel profits,” any help from this direction is more “disease” than “cure.”

The first Bush nominee had to be withdrawn, NYC Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik, bagman for self-ordained “9/11 hero” Rudy Giuliani, former mayor. Kerik, who, on 9/11, took personal custody of those arrested with weapons and explosives during attempts to destroy the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels, was unable to serve.

Kerik is in prison. Those arrested on 9/11, with weapons and explosives disappeared, all except five very famous videographers known as “the dancing Israelis.” That’s OK, they were released too.

The Boston “no-brainer”

Three days after the Boston bombing, the FBI has released one blurry photograph of a possible “suspect.”

The same photograph in crystal clear high definition was released on Facebook and published in Veterans Today days ago. Additionally, the photographs of other suspects, all very clear and identifiable, were published and have been seen by million. Yet the FBI is choosing to release only altered and blurry reproductions of only one suspect.

 Why would they do this?

When Israel’s DEBKA Files said one of the suspects were “Middle Eastern,” they were correct it seems. One clearly-identifiable photograph of a suspect in a blue tracksuit does resemble someone who may be from the Middle East.

Maybe he isn’t Israeli, perhaps the FBI should publish his photograph and seek to question why he set off a bomb and who he is and where he is from.

Thus far, they have not seen this as a priority.

Of course, the FBI is trained and advised by Israeli companies. The FBI has a long history of recruiting and training terrorists to attack the United States and then arresting them “just in time.”

How many times has the FBI hired and trained terrorists and failed to arrest them “just in time?” We may never know.

Is this, perhaps, why the military and intelligence agencies suspect the FBI may have actually been involved in the planning and execution of a terror attack against the United States?
