Another US plot against regional states

Every now and then, some Afghan media, affected by the US and some western countries, poison the atmosphere against the Islamic Republic of Iran to create rifts among the regional states.

After signing US-Afghanistan Strategic Cooperation Agreement, once again some of the Afghan media atmosphere toughened against Iran under the pretext of Tehran’s opposition to the agreement. The remarks of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador to Afghanistan on the concern towards Kabul-Washington strategic cooperation agreement was the pretext for the biased media.
Some biased Afghan media embarked on magnifying the Iranian ambassador’s viewpoint about the agreement at a time when the Iranian official, based on diplomatic duties, retold Tehran’s position in a meeting with the Afghan officials.

Concurrent with the efforts to show an unreal image of Iran for the Afghan government and nation, the dependent media referred to the so-called threats created by the neighboring states to justify the inking of Kabul-Washington Strategic Cooperation agreement. Some of the Afghan media pursued the policy of issuing artificial concerns in a bid to perturb the friendly ties between Iran and Afghanistan.
While Afghanistan’s neighboring states, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran, are very much concerned about an increase of US spying activities against the regional states, under the disguise of strategic cooperation agreement via Washington’s permanent military bases in Afghanistan, the biased Afghan media made the groundless allegation that some of the neighboring countries are threatening Afghanistan.
Although the media play a vital role in reflecting the issues behind the scene, the mercenary Afghan media that claim support for the Afghans’ rights and the national interests of the country never published the reality of what was signed between the Afghanistan and the US.

Due to being under the influence and pressure of the US embassy in Kabul, the dependent media paid no attention to the reason for omission of the topic of US permanent bases in Afghanistan and the manner of US forces presence in the country from the agreement text. Based on this, the opponents of the agreement in Afghanistan believe that Kabul government has refrained from publishing the full text of the agreement and they just released parts of it on the foreign ministry website. The media, which claim to defend the Afghan national interests, have never published anything on Loya Jirga’s viewpoints that are not inserted in the paragraphs of the strategic cooperation agreement with the US. Putting end to US nocturnal operations, establishment of US military facilities on the Afghan borders and outside city areas, rejection of foreign military judiciary immunity, the necessity of the foreign forces’ compliance with the Afghan government, the need for determining an expiry time for the strategic cooperation treaty and emphasis on the US temporary presence in Afghanistan have all been among the conditions assinged by
Loya Jirga participants in the meeting for inking the agreement. Dismantling of US jails in Afghanistan, cancellation of the past signed documents between the two countries and the US commitment to defend Afghanistan in case of a foreign attack are among other conditions mentioned in the final statement of Loya Jirga. Signing of the agreement by the Afghan and US presidents Hamed Karzai and Barak Obam, while ignoring the viewpoints stipulated in Loya Jirga resolution, indicates that the White House pressures on Kabul government have been effective.

The Afghan biased media, which have earlier shown the depth of their indignation against expansion of Kabul-Tehran relations, have cited the signing of Afghanistan-US strategic cooperation agreement as a shield to defend the neighbors’ attacks.
This comes as during over 3 decades of war in Afghanistan, Iran has proved its humanitarian policy via hosting millions of Afghan refugees and displaced people.
Since 2001, Iran has opposed to any kind of occupation of Afghanistan and has considered the presence of US and NATO in the country as the main factor for intensifying violence, destruction and insecurity. The Islamic Republic has boosted its relations and cooperation with Afghanistan after the establishment of national government and has assisted in reconstruction plans of the country.
Certainly one should notice that Pakistan’s inattention to the national interests of Afghanistan and the region in the effective campaign against terrorism and extremism is among the issues which should not be neglected by the Kabul government.

Among other tricks of the biased Afghan media against Iran is their unreal outlets and changing of the facts about the Afghan nationals in Iran; and hence trying to release wide rumors on mistreating the Afghans by the Iranians. Thank God all efforts of these mischievous media to smear the face of Islamic Republic of Iran in the eyes of the Afghan pubic have failed.
As a matter of fact, legal dealings with those Afghan nationals who have committed crimes like murder, rape and drug trafficking in Iran have been made bold by the mischievous media as a proof for misconduct on the side of the Iranians.

This comes as encounter the culprits and those who violate individual and social freedoms is an accepted principle and norm among all countries of the world.

The Afghan people’s unchanged reality-based view of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s cooperative measures and efforts in reconstructing the war-ravaged country on the one hand, and the amicable conduct with the majority of the Afghan nationals who abide by the Iranian law on the other hand show that the conspiracies and plots schemed by the enemies of both countries have failed.
The Iranian officials’ emphasis on the necessity of legalizing the presence of Afghan nationals in Iran is to make the Iranian government able to precise statistics on their identity so that it can present more appropriate services to them. It is said that out of 3 million Afghan nationals in Iran, only one million are legally allowed to stay.

The Iranian government pays costly expenses to host 3 million Afghan national as the international organs provide Tehran with little financial aids in return for these services.
The almost 200 million dollar health expenditures of the Afghan refugees in Iran are just a small part of the expenses related to hosting Afghan nationals in Iran.
Hamed Karzai’s last year stance on Tehran-Kabul brotherly relations, in spite of the efforts made by some of the mischievous Afghan media regarding what they called “Iran’s prevention of entering fuel in this country”, showed that the Afghan government, just like the Afghan people, has a positive approach towards Iran’s performance.
